Last night, I read an Architectural Digest Article about the Best 55 Small Towns in America. I hoped to read about Appomattox, Virginia, but I could not find our town on the list. After many Google searches later, I learned that very little is known about this small community and what we have to offer.
This should not be so. We can be known for our historical significance, but we are more than just 1865. Today, Appomattox is economically stable enough to push 3 key areas.
1. Robust Economic Development
2. Media Resurgence and Outreach
3. Common Goal Demonstrations
Communities nationwide have positioned themselves onto an excellent launching pad with efficient infrastructure for long-term utility success, leaders willing to advance new business ventures and types, and communities with an ignited spirit. Appomattox is good, of course, but let us never settle for being content. Let us strive for the betterment of our community.
